What are the main challenges and opportunities in cloud adoption for the legal sector?
Qurated has built a strong presence in the legal sector, allowing us to engage with technology leaders to understand the latest trends and challenges, most recently regarding cloud strategy. The consensus is clear: solid technology foundations and a strategic approach are essential for generating ROI and maximising the value of cloud and AI tools; notably, 66% of law firms store data in the cloud (SRA). Therefore, we organised an event for technology and change leaders spearheading cloud transformation initiatives, aiming to future-proof their firms for GenAI, considering practice management system (PMS) and data migration, or exploring cloud-based SaaS solutions.
The event started with a deep dive into cloud strategy, emphasising how law firms can unleash the power of Generative AI (GenAI). Discussions highlighted the debate between "lift and shift" versus cloud-native approaches. It became clear that while some firms opt for straightforward migrations to the cloud, others are investing in cloud-native solutions to better leverage GenAI's capabilities.
The conversation naturally progressed to strategies for accelerating the delivery of cloud projects. Attendees shared their experiences with common pitfalls in cloud adoption, such as integration challenges and ensuring seamless data migration. A recurring theme was the importance of having a clear roadmap and robust change management practices to navigate these challenges effectively.
